Article from the local newspaper BZ from 24th July
Guaranteeing the future of the Musikkapelle is the aim of the education team of the orchestra.
As a result of this project’s work the new music school was founded recently.
„To enjoy making music together is the main aim of this school“ emphasizes the managing board of the music school. It consists of Dirk Föcker (1st chairman), Wolfgang Harke (2nd chairman), Heinz-Gerd Möllmann (treasurer) and Markus Gesing (secretary).
„A good education at the instrument is the base for playing in a group“ explains a press release of the orchestra. Playing together in the education or youth orchestra the children can experience the importance of a good education.
Apart from performances with the orchestras the youngsters will be offered more leisure activities to enjoy their time together. „We still have more plans and ideas to enhance the musical education – within the orchestras as well as beyond the limits of the Musikkapelle“, confirms Wiebke Lensing, public officer of the orchestra.
Having professional teachers for all the different instruments has been a central fact within the last years and will be continued with the new music school.
At the moment about 70 children are learning an instrument at the Musikkapelle Heiden. The youngest, being six years old, start with playing the recorder.
The music school will offer the education at all instruments of a wind orchestra – from oboe to clarinette, from trumpet to frenchhorn or tuba. The pupil’s age is not important. Also adults are welcomed for instrumental education.
